TSLE Wedding: Jilly & Evren’s Intimate San Francisco Apartment Wedding Celebration

Jilly, an Art Historian from Australia had planned to marry her Turkish groom Evren in May 2020, surrounded by an impressive collection of art by the likes of Rodin and Monet at the Legion of Honor fine art museum of San Francisco.  However, it was in their small one-bedroom San Francisco hilltop apartment, over zoom that the two officially became husband and wife.  In the first few days of Covid lockdowns Jilly choose to postpone her wedding by one year.  When it became apparent that her parents in Australia, still under an international travel ban would not be allowed to attend her May 2021 wedding, a new plan was formed.

In person civil ceremonies were not an option at the time and as such the couple decided to wed in a private Zoom ceremony performed through San Francisco City Hall from the comfort of their home.  Following their online nuptials, the couple toasted with family members around the globe.  The classic, elegant and fashion forward bride wore white Chanel flats, a gorgeous white floral applique blouse with gold heart button detailing and a wide leg linen pant.  Her hair was braided in a crown to feature the collar and pussy bow of the blouse.

The couple’s apartment was transformed to feel like a wedding oasis with a small day of vendor team. Drapes were hung and accented with beautiful bright blooms like bougainvillea, peonies and king protea.  The table was set with the brides handcrafted dishes – a subtle reminder of time spent studying abroad in Italy.  The cake was adorned with custom sugar flowers executed in such intricate detail to match the rest of the wedding flowers.

As lovers of art, architecture and one of a kind detailing the couple took photos in their Pacific Heights neighborhood.  The James Leary Flood Mansion was gracious to allow us to decorate the front of the building with flowers and this made for a stunning backdrop.  The couple proceeded to walk around the neighborhood and take pictures highlighting the many beautiful corners of their neighborhood and capturing this unique time in their lives.
